Children, Anxiety and the Benefit of Hypnosis

posted in: Children, Hypnosis, Hypnotherapy

Often, we forget to pause and consider how kids suffer from anxiety related disorders; despite the fact that rates of anxiety related disorders such as angst and worry in children are on the rise. In fact, 1 out of 8 children suffer from this some sort of anxiety, frustration, and sadness.  The increase in childhood worry and fearfulness derives from a number of factors involving stressful environments, traumas and family genetics.

There are three important factors to consider regarding your child’s anxiety type issues.  One, no matter what, it is critical to be open to understanding that your child’s anxiousness is not bad behavior. Two, it is crucial to understand that your child needs your help, not your disapproval. Lastly, the sooner the root cause is treated, the least likely it will develop into a chronic condition, as they become adults.

Coping with anxiety type of issues can involve different methods of treatments from medications to alternative solutions.    I would like to offer an effective, and often overlooked approach to your child’s anxious related issues – Hypnosis.

What is Hypnosis?

According to the National Hypnotherapy Society, hypnosis is a procedure in which a hypnotist, “…helps direct a client’s imagination in such a way as to bring about intended alterations in sensations, perceptions, feelings, thoughts and behavior.” A suggestion based treatment that works within the subconscious.

Why is it a great solution for kids?

Hypnosis is based on shifting present feelings with one’s imagination. A child’s mind is in the process of forming and is at its most venerable state until the age of 12. This stage can either work for or against your child. It is extremely important to make sure the right thoughts and positive self-beliefs are making it into their minds.

Reflect on this…

Since your child’s mind is a sponge, whose imagination is at his or her peak, which allows the highest chance of absorbing positive thought patternsthis is the perfect biological time to overcome the effects of trauma and to create positive thought patterns.

As a matter of fact, reaching your child with this form of positive reinforcement before they pass this stage is vital for the betterment of their future.  Contact me today to learn how together we can make a difference in your child’s life at 510 253-3549.
